White-starred Robin

Pogonocichla stellata

A small, plump robin with a yellow belly, slate hood and a tiny white "star" on the forehead. It flicks its wings and tail as it forages low in the darkest undergrowth.

Did you know?

Young birds are heavily spotted, quite unlike their parents, and take over a year to gain adult plumage.
